Khilafah.

Radical Islamic party convenes in London

LONDON: A radical Islamic party that has become a focus of attention in Britain, with calls in Parliament for its prohibition, began a frontal attack on its critics this weekend at a carefully stage-managed conference in London that attracted several thousands of well-dressed, mostly professional Muslims.

Calls of "Allahu Akbar," or God is great, punctuated the leaders' speeches at the conference held by Hizb ut-Tahrir, or Party of Liberation, a group that calls for a caliphate in Muslim countries, the end of Israel and the withdrawal of all Western interests in the Middle East.

"There is no Islam as a way of life without a Khilafah," said Kamal Abuzahra, an Islamic academic of Bangladeshi origin, using the Arabic work for caliphate and earning a roar of approval from the crowd segregated into his and hers sections.

The conference was titled, "Khilafah, The Need and the Method."

The chairman of the party, Abdul Wahid, a medical doctor in Harrow, England, took on Britain's political leadership: "They say: 'You preach hate.' I preach a hatred of the lies of people in this country that send soldiers to Iraq. I preach a hatred of torture."

Other speakers assailed the British government for linking the group to terrorism and for too often treating British Muslims as terror suspects.

Hizb ut-Tahrir, founded in the early 1950s by a Palestinian judge dissatisfied with the Muslim Brotherhood, has existed in Britain for a number of years, and remains legal in other Western countries, including the United States, where it has less appeal than here.

In the aftermath of the botched terror attacks in London and Glasgow, there were renewed calls for the prohibition of Hizb ut-Tahrir, on the grounds that although the group proclaims advocating peaceful means for winning the Caliphate, its rhetoric can encourage Muslims onto a path toward terrorism.

Some analysts describe Hizb ut-Tahrir as "soft jihadists"; others contend that it veers beyond that.

"The only difference between Islamists from Hizb ut-Tahrir and jihadists is that the former are waiting for their state and caliph before they commend jihad, while the latter believes the time for jihad is now," said Ed Husain, a former member of Hizb ut-Tahrir who has criticized the group in a recent book, "The Islamist."

Hizb ut-Tahrir is banned in a number of Muslim countries, particularly those that feel vulnerable to its calls for the overthrow of their governments - including Egypt, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

The group was proscribed by the German Interior Ministry in 2003 for "spreading hate and violence," under a chapter in the Constitution that is often used to clamp down on anti-Semitism. Hizb ut-Tahrir is appealing that ban.

In Britain, Hizb ut-Tahrir has waxed and waned, enjoying considerable strength in the mid-1990s, when members recalled that it attracted a crowd of many thousands to a meeting at Wembley Stadium.

The party, which does not announce membership numbers, remains potent on British university campuses, frequently fields speakers on television talk shows, and runs a slick Web site that falls short of running into problems with British law.

During Prime Minister Gordon Brown's first question time in the House of Commons last month, the leader of the Conservative Party, David Cameron, asked the new Labour leader why Hizb ut-Tahrir had not been banned.

Cameron said the group was "poisoning the minds of young people and has said that Jews should be killed wherever they are found."

Brown replied that he had only been in office a short while and would look into it.

But John Reid, the former home secretary, jumped in, saying there was not sufficient evidence under British laws to ban the organization.

That, say British officials, is the nub of the problem. Even under the new 2006 anti-terrorism law that prohibits the glorification of terrorism, Hizb ut-Tahrir cannot be prosecuted, a British government official said.

"They are very savvy, very sophisticated, they know how far they can push," the official said.

Former Prime Minister Tony Blair was urged last year by the Pakistani president, Pervez Musharraf, to ban the group on the grounds that it "brainwashes people and that leads to violent acts," a senior Pakistani official said. The British Foreign Office received a similar message from Pakistani officials last month.

During a lunch break in the sunny courtyard of the Alexandra Palace, a 19th-century brick pile in northern London, conference-goers - information technology managers, bankers and teachers - told of the appeal of the ideology of a Caliphate in the Muslim world.

"If you look at the political structure in the Muslim world, it's a police state," said Mohammed Baig, 28, a second-generation British Indian who is an asset manager specializing in corporate governance. "You have the public opinion underground, and then staged public opinion in the media."

Most people in the Muslim world want the introduction of Sharia, or Islamic law, said Baig, who said he had been a member of the group for seven years.

"Our feeling is: What gives Western governments the right to impose a set of values on a people who don't believe in them?" he said, referring to the United States and Britain pushing for democratic values in the Middle East.

Asked about Hizb ut-Tahrir as a conveyor belt to terrorism, Baig said: "I'm not going to say Hizb ut-Tahrir has been a perfect organization for 20 years. There are people who have come and gone in the organization. An atmosphere was created in the youth in the mid '90s, mistakes were made."

Some of the most ardent adherence to the party's ideas about a Caliphate was expressed by women members at the conference.

Rubina Ahmed, 33, a mother of four who came on a charter bus from Manchester, said, "It's the in-depthness of the caliphate that I like." Hizb ut-Tahrir "doesn't compromise on the values of Islam and it's not afraid to speak out for what it wants."

Why did Hizb ut-Tahrir not work for the goal of the Caliphate in Britain, asked someone in the audience during a question-and-answer session.

"We focus our work where we can get the quickest results," Abuzahra said.

Dear Fosca ,
It is time for European people ( all ) to open their eyes and see what is coming . And it is not coming slow.Muslims become more smart then ever before and they invited EU countries and spreading their sharia low slowly but steadily .
Now it is time to rise question to all of You :
What You have done in Balkan? What You have done to Serbia and Serbians in Bosnia ? Now we see that mujahediin are part of regular Bosnia ( muslims & croats) forces . Now we see that they are steel in Bosnia 12 years after war. Do You know what they are doing there ? Ask Americans and Your EU government.
What You Europeans done in Kosovo? You preparing to take part of Serbia and give to Albanians which are 95% muslims and have organized crime & war lords in government. What are You doing??? Do You think that they will stop on Your borders? Do You think that they better than Serbian people ( your war friend in WW1 and WW2) and Christians with European culture ? What You are doing ? It is time to rise Your voice and ask Your government and your politicians. It is time to save Serbia and save our souls before it be to late. Ask Americans what are they doing in Tuzla and Kosovo? Ask them before it is too late. And don't waste time . This could explode right in your face before you know. Very soon. Here . In Europe . In our land . In our countries . Think about that.Carefully.
Dear Fosca ,
Pls translate this and send to all Your friends or post on Your blog.

Dear Stevan,
unfortunately it's not easy at all to open our politicians' eyes, we have been trying to do it for years, and still are. But it's a difficult task as our politicians, ALL european politicians, are too damn in love with their "islamically correctness" and so afraid of "hurt" them, whatever that means. We know that the muslim cancer is trying to invade Europe in many ways, and one of these ways is the most traditional: they're coming right up from the Balkans, and up, and up, just like they did in the past, when they were finally stopped in Vienna. But few of us remember that, and even fewer are trying to prevent this new invasion. Letting Albania to include Kosovo would be a great aim for them and a dangerous defeat for true Europe (the geographical Europe I mean, not the political one). I can tell you that I've heard news from Kosovo only today, but there have been no news for ages, at least here in Italy. The press doesn't say a word, and if you want to know something you have to look on the internet by yourself, otherwise you'd think nothing's happening, everything's all right.
And, if things could go worse, here we have filoislamic lunatics in power which, I'm afraid, are drooling at the only thought of helping Kosovo out of Serbia.

Dear Lea ,
My letter is just an appeal for all of You to do something against riping my country . It is last moment to see what will happen if You ( Your government ,Your politicians ) give Albanians green light to form new country in heart of Serbia. This will be first muslim country on Europe soil ever. And it will spread . And it will cradle all sharia low and mujahedin fighters . And they will come to Your country .And they will finally be here among us .And they fight for their religion and way of life fiercely regardless of casualties. Holly war in Europe ? Ask Your government , ask americans , ask politicians. Ask London , ask Madrid .
In next couple of days I will prepare an open letter for European citizens and if Mr. Fosca allow this I will published here on his blog. I hope that this will spread and be cause for wide action among European citizens. Somebody need to make pressure or we will wake up soon with Molotov cocktails on our windows ( remember Paris ).
Thank You and thank to Mr. Fosca for understanding.
Stevan
Don't stand steel - Do something right for You , Your country , Your people , Your future !!!

Dear Stevan, they're already among us, and even if Albania won't include Kosovo, there soon will be 100 millions turkish muslims entering EU. By the way, we're waiting for your letter: I would be glad to post it on my blog, too :)

My dear Stevan your last letter is lying in front of me (about “Srebenica Revisited”, do you remember?) and I’ve just finished reading your messages.
So far is your letter in my mailbox and I haven’t got the heart to publish it in my blog. As I think you realized, I did not want to talk about the Bosnian war and about what we have done to Serbia. Oh, well, if you’ll have a quick look at the earliest “POSTS” I published, you’ll read an unfinished story about tortures and beheadings committed by “our allies”, the mujahedin, members of “3rd Corps of Army BiH”. Well, I find it hard to reach the end of it. I swear to finish the story “asap” when I’ll be ready to do it.
Stevan, that is the sore spot:
I think I’ve been avoiding commenting on this issue because I realize I’m not ready for that yet. Reading your letters or talking about that war brings back painful memories to us. at last I won’t get involved in a debate about the people chiefly responsible for what has happened and if the real culprits were or not discovered.
On second thought, I think it’s enough to add that I agree with someone in Bosnia (wasting his breath) once said “War is obscene and dirty; talk is a good solution if someone is listening, but sometimes the men of death cannot hear the words”
So please put on one side the war in Bosnia and Serbia for awhile, because talking about islamic fundamentalism and terrorism, in other words about Islam and its wicked influence on Europe (which is the worst thing ever happen to the Western Civilization), is quite different.

However Stevan, I agree with you and with John Schindler the author of “UNHOLY TERROR”:
what Afghanistan has been to Al-Qaeda in the 1980’s so was Bosnia in the 1990’s, a battleground where Jihadists perfected their tactics then used them to sow terror in America, in Europe.
In the whole world.

You wrote “What You Europeans done in Kosovo? You preparing to take part of Serbia and give to Albanians which are 95% Muslims and have organized crime & war lords in government”
My dear Stevan I think there are few people about who know that the real Kosovo is different from that most Europeans know. OK: We were there, but who else (among the most part of Europeans)? And yet the International Crisis Group warned that Kosovo is a time bomb ticking in the hands of the Europe, perhaps because would be the Albanians quite capable to transfer the crisis in Macedonia too?

Perhaps you won’t agree to my opinion, but I wouldn’t like the Serbian nation and the Kosovaran region, together, side by side, in Europe. OK, if you were a federation of states, you Serbs might even control Albanians and their activities. But the doctor knows that he couldn’t cure the cancer, he has to separate it from the body.
You would have to be separated from Kosovo, because Islam is strong there: it's stronger than ever and it is the cancer.
At last you know our attitude: we don’t want now, here, in Europe, Islamic people which try to fool us with their death religion.

Don’t forget Stevan, WE ARE Europeans. Plans of puppet governments enchanted by multiculturalism (as our Italian left-wing gov.) will miss the mark. Once again, we don’t want Muslims and their barbaric tradition and laws in our land.
So, don’t think we’ll stand here twiddling our thumbs while Islamic people do their best to re-found the “Khilafah”
We’ll oppose it with all our strength, even if we’ll have to start a new obscene and dirty war again.
No translation is needed.

Ciao.
